साम्प्रदायिक राजनीति

Communal Politics - I always thought these two exotic words are very cool and strong words and they rock when used in essays, and group discussions and stuff like that; I had been using them to my advantage ever since I have understood the literal meaning of it, or misunderstood I must say.

Chetan Bhagat always inspires me, as his genre and style of writing makes me feel very comfortable while I m reading his brainchildren. Be it the love making scene at professor's place at "Five Point Someone" or the email stuff they did against the boss in "One night at Call center" ; I think our guy makes sense, and more than anything else it keeps me engaged as nine out of ten times I could sense the humor that will be following after a simple narration. Its smart humor. I like it. However, this blog is not about CB and his writings, I definitely owe him one though.

This is about Communal Politics. The other night when I finished "3 mistakes" it was a mixed reaction. I definitely liked the sequence at Australia, loved vidya as a character; And wow , Govind rocks. The ending was a bit drag though. Anyway, coming back or rather going into the point , "3 Mistakes" also drew some pictures of "2002 Gujarat Violence" and some understanding of Communal Politics at Gujarat. I did some amount of googling to find out the history; Ayodhya, Godhra ......... Its nerve rattling stuff. I can not believe that politicians can actually go to these extents. While being shocked and feeling disgusted about these kinda situations, I also consider myself to be lucky to belong to west-Bengal and then Bangalore. Touch wood !! The other day (Friday, 10Th July) office ended early as there was some tension in northern Bangalore, apparently due to the NP Hard Hindu-Muslim problem.

I don't know this weekend God wanted me to dive deep into Indian Communal Politics or its just the chain of co-incidents; Yesterday night I was watching this movie called "AMU" by Sonali Bose. Its easily the best Indian movie I watch this year. Amazing direction. However, the story and the facts surrounded were not only shocking , but mind-boggling ! [ Watch out Brinda Karat, amazing .... though a political take once again to attack titler; but kudos karat.]

If Gujrat, Hindutva, Babri, Godhra, Sabarmati, Muslim, BJP were the keywords of Friday night; Saturday night was pre-dominantly 1984 and Sikh. I was into tears when I saw the visuals in the movie, and then later in blogs and other Google images of 84.

Mass-murdering Sikhs because the two bodyguards of Mrs. Gandhi who killed her were Sikhs; And people accepts it. Some people anticipates !!!! You gotta be kidding me. I mean we are taking about 1984. A free India, democratic country, decent education ratio, and communal politics makes an issue as tiny as this ............... Shit !!!! Sometime I feel the guys who blindly respond to these Netas' calls are the biggest assholes a country can ever have. I mean this is worse than anarchy; This is worse than being ruled by a barbarian king (Aurangzeb, if i may humbly place this as an example; Hope there wont be any fatwa issued against me :-) ) or a stupid for that matter ( Lets say Tughlak). At least their you know you are fucked up, because its the boss who screws. But what are we doing in this democracy ...... Boy , this is nuts ..... This is absolute bull-shit.

Just imagine the ones who lost their relatives in those riots !!!!!! Life will be so different for them. Shit, imagine the anger in their hearts. Origin of Terror.

I know, I making a bloody mess out of this blog. I am sure those who have managed to read this far must be cursing me and also wondering "So what the fuck is your point ? ". Believe me I have no idea, what is the point. Its just that I am feeling helpless, I am angry, I am surprised and I feel so so depressed.

I am not sure if people like you and me can ever make a difference. If our awareness will count. But I think somewhere deep down we all are responsible for all this bullshit. How many times you have noticed that some of us opt out of eating at a Muslim restaurant, when boozed up making silly comments about terrorists and then relating it to the entire community. I mean, most of us just say it without thinking about, 90% of times without having any grudge, hatred or sarcasm for them. But these kind of remarks, gossips, and beliefs are the base for those motherfucking politicians to inject poison. I have decided I am not going to ever talk/listen anything baseless and silly about any community unless I myself am convinced about it.

Folks, this is a very simple request from all of you friends. Guys, just resist those unnecessary, "K....." ,'"M....", "T........." words next time when you watch an Indian-Pakistan match. I mean I used to call my Friend Amir Ali as "Pakistani" during our group get-together and take pride of my sense of humor !!!! Holy shit ...... Bull shit ...... Humor my foot ..... this needs to stop friends ...... lets stop making communal comments just for the sake of it. You never know how different mind including your own register it as !!!!
